travel lover,

beach seeker,

dog mumma.

Hey, I'm Milly. Welcome to my little corner of the internet.

There's a lot that goes into why I like the things I like, and why I've taken this creative path. It's not just work, or a project. Creating displays and visually fine tuning elements brings me joy, and scratches a part of my brain that feels addictive.

I've always been a creative human. Throughout my schooling my best marks were always from my creative communications classes. My first few jobs outside of my schooling entailed some sort of social media management or implementing visual aesthetics within the field. In 2022 I launched a clothing line, Eight Hawks the Label, and shortly after enrolled in a Micro Business Class. From here I discovered the desire to work as a sole trader. In 2023 I completed a Certificate IV in Design, which inevitably led me here.

For a couple of years I ran Social Rec entirely on the road - full time travelling around Australia with my partner Dan and our dog Mars. It was equal parts chaotic and brilliant, and I wouldn't trade it. But eventually Tasmania called us home, and now I'm building the business from the NW Coast - which, for the record, is a pretty good place to be doing it.

I'm a healthy hybrid of a dreamer and a realist. I can dream all day, but can see the realistic steps I need to take in order to walk myself there. I am an Aries which affords me great enjoyment for leadership and seeing things through to completion. While we are on the Aries train, I'm an introverted extrovert - I think they have a name for that now, ambivert maybe - which means I gain energy by working with others yet thrive in being independent.

Overall I consider myself a kind person, who considers and encourages everyone around them. I'm a big believer in fun, life was never meant to be boring. I laugh a lot. I can't sit still for too long. You'll always find me at the beach. My go to beverage is a ginger beer. I'm a chocoholic with no plans of going to rehab. My dog is my best friend. And I'm a die hard thrift shopper. I think that's it. That's me, Milly.
